THE FIRST SPELLING BEE KID TO RECEIVE WORLDWIDE RECOGNITION
Master Akash Vukoti is a 12-year-old 7th grader from San Angelo, Texas in the United States of America. Ever since he was a baby, he loved languages and he competed in his first Spelling Bee when he was just 2 years old. He was inducted into the High IQ Society American Mensa at the age of 3 years and became a Davidson Young Scholar at the age of 5 years. He became the Youngest Boy to qualify and compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee when he was 6 years old in 2016. Until now, he qualified five times to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. He has received International Media attention and addressed the Press Conference during the 2016 National Spelling Bee in Washington DC. Akash did many TV Shows in the United States and around the world. He worked with Mr. Steve Harvey on three different TV Shows in Hollywood and all three became instant hits. Akash has been featured in BBC & HBO Documentaries. His Netflix Documentary Film “Spelling the Dream” was released in over 190 countries on June 3rd 2020 and received positive reviews from around the world. Major TV Channels in the United States, Canada, Australia & India interviewed Akash multiple times. Global print and electronic media has widely covered Akash during his appearances in the National Spelling Bee and Hollywood. These multiple recognitions have been appreciated by the Telugu Book of Records in a special category.
